Everything stays in your browser: nothing you enter is sent or saved.
How the calculator counts
- Any part of a day counts. The day you enter and the day you leave are both days in the Schengen Area, so 1 to 10 June is ten days.
- One allowance for the whole area. The 90 days cover all Schengen countries together, not each country separately. A day spent in two Schengen countries counts once.
- The 180 days up to one date. The calendar shows the 180 days up to the date you count up to, today unless you pick another, and the tracker counts your days in them. Each older day that drops out of the window frees up one day.
- Planning a trip? Count up to its last day. During a stay your count can only go up, so if the last day fits, the whole trip fits.
When other rules apply
The 90/180 count covers short stays. A few situations follow their own rules, and each guide explains them:
- Long-stay visas and residence permits. Days on a national long-stay visa or an EU residence permit do not count toward the 90. See the 90/180 rule.
- A visa for fewer days. If your visa authorises fewer than 90 days, that shorter stay applies. See Schengen single-entry visas; AtlasDays has a tracker for the days on your visa.
- Which countries count. Schengen is not the same as the EU: Cyprus and Ireland are outside it, Norway and Switzerland are in. See the Schengen countries list.
To see the window move day by day, read the rolling window walkthrough, and for when days come back, when you get Schengen days back.
Keep counting as you travel
The calculator checks the stays you remember today. AtlasDays keeps counting your Schengen days as you travel, privately on your iPhone, and warns you before a trip would take you past 90.

Do the day I enter and the day I leave both count?
Yes. The day you enter is the first day of your stay and the day you leave is the last, even if you arrive late at night or leave early in the morning. The calculator counts both.
When do I get my Schengen days back?
One day at a time: each day you spent in the area stops counting 180 days later. Count up to a later date to see how many days you will have then, or read when you get Schengen days back.
Is this the official EU calculator?
No. The European Commission publishes its own short-stay calculator. This one counts the same way, 90 days in any 180 with entry and exit days included, and lets you keep your stays in AtlasDays. Border and visa authorities make the decision.
Is my data stored?
No. The calculator runs in your browser and does not send, log or save the dates you enter. Closing or reloading the page clears them. To keep them, tap Track this in AtlasDays.
